Titusville United Way Selected for Pre-K Tax Credit Scholarship Funds
Titusville Area United Way was approved as a Pre-K Scholarship Organization in 2006 by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED). The Titusville Area United Way will use the funds for scholarships for approved early childhood education programs at the YWCA's Fun Factory and Titusville Day Care.
Scholarships are income based and applications for scholarships will be made available to the public, as funding allows, through the Titusville Area United Way.
To celebrate the event, Terri Ann Wig, Chief Professional Officer, visited the Fun Factory to spend time with the staff and students at the YWCA. During the visit students were happy to show their guest the proper way of spending time at the sand table play station.
"We are thrilled to have received generous donations from PNC Capital Markets, LLC and, more recently, the Highmark Foundation in support of of our local preschool programs. These funds will enable more of the young people in our community to receive school readiness programs, giving them a head start on life-long learning. We hope more local businesses will seek to use these Educational Improvement Tax Credit programs allowing more dollars to be used right here in our region."
