Promoting Financial Stability & Independence 

Your contribution provides fuel assistance, budgeting, rental assistance, housing for homeless women and children, emergency food, clothing and shelter and hot noon meals for area seniors.  These programs help to give our area residents basic needs and to keep families together in times of economic crisis.

American Red Cross Emergency Services

 

 

The immediate outcome is that 100% of clients affected by disaster will receive Red Cross services within 2 hrs. of call. 6 clients served this reporting period rec'ng contact w/n 2 hrs. of notification of need.
    Short-term outcome is that 95% of clients will have received the basic life needs: food, clothing & shelter. 100% of clients were offered basic life needs.
    Long-term outcome-75% of clients will return to pre-disaster lifestyle. N/A
       
Associated Charities Fuel Assistance

Provide immediate assistant to 100% of families. 

34% were new clients.  35 families were served in the 1st qtr.

    Improve self-sufficiency for the family.. 78% made co-pays to help w/self-sufficiency. 7% were helped by another agency.
    100% of those able to work be registered at Career Links & supply us w/a resume & job acitivity report. All clients able to work complied w/this criteria.
    Long range-have 100% of those able to work find some type of employment. 17% are working.
    Make referrals to improve their situation, maybe more schooling. 2 rec'd referrals to improve their situation.
       
Salvation Army Direct Assistance

100% of clients resolve immediate crisis.

25 Vouchers issued w/100% of needs met.
    75% of Clients contact other community resources. 90% of families were assisted by other agencies.
    35% of Clients understand behaviors leading to budget issues. 74% or 18 familes were taught how to budget.
    80% of Clients learn how to better deal with crisis. 74% or 18 families have worked w/utility cos. & landlords w/budget issues.
       
Titusville Health and Aging Center Congregate Meals

100% of participants will receive 1/3 of the RDA. 

1631 meals served.  100% of participants received 1/3 of RDA. 

    Provide an outlet for socialization with 100% of participants socializing with each other.  They will come to the Center approx. 3/days a week w/50% of activities outside of the home will occur at the Center. Consumers visited the Center 3 days/wk. w/84% of those having activities occur at the Center. 
    75% of participants will feel they've gained useful knowledge, enjoy lunchtime speakers and will be able to hear the speaker clearly. 77% enjoyed the speakers, 77% gained useful knowledge and 75% were able to hear the speaker clearly.
    60% will indicate an increase in nutritional health as a result of this prgm. 82% reported an increase in nutritional health.
       
YWCA Housing & Supportive Services 65% of residents exiting the YWCA St. James House will secure permanent  or transitional housing. Of the 9 clients who exited St. James House, 8  reported permanent housing. 
    70% of rental assistance clients who receive rental ass't funding will remain in transitional or permanent housing for at least 9 months. 24, or 79% of clients  rec'd rental assist & 19 secured permanent housing.
    70% of adults in the Housing Advocacy prgm will remain in permanent housing up to one year. 100% of Housing Advocate clients remained in housing for at least 1 yr.
    85% of participants in Housing Adv. prgm will attend app'ts w/o staff assistance after a maximum of 1 yr of service. 85% of Housing Advocate clients attended app'ts w/o assistance.
       
Crawford County READ Prgm One on One Tutoring 20 learners will remain in prgm long enough to meet personal goals. 29 learners have been served in 1st qtr. 15 have met personal goals
    50% of learners will increase 1 educational functioning level. 1 learner increased at least 1 educational level. 3 stayed at same level. 1 up 2 levels, 1 up 4 levels in math & 3 levels in language.
    50% of learners have the goal of getting a job will do so. 71% have found employment.
    33% of learners wanting to enter post-secondary education or training, will.  33% have gone on the post-secondary education.
    51% of learners will have a goal of passing the GED exam. Of the 11 learners setting goal of getting GED, 36% have passed.
    10 tutors will receive case management services to support instruction of educationally disadvantaged learners. 7 tutors have rec'd case management services through March 31st.
       
Titusville Health and Aging Center Titusville Community Cafe 100 % of individuals will receive 1/3 of RDA. 1731 were served this period. 100% of participants rec'd 1/3 of RDA.
    100% of participants will socialize with others. N/A
    Paticipants will come to the Cafe on average 2+ times ea. month. Consumers visited the Cafe approx. 3x a month.
    60% will indicate that their food budget is stretched further as a result of this prgm. 90% indicated their food budget stretched as a result of the prgm.
    75% will indicate that if they didn't attend, they would stay at home. 91%  indicated if they wouldn't have visited the Cafe, they would have stayed home.
    75% or more will have gained useful knowledge.  98% felt they gained useful knowledge.
       
Titusville Area United Way Financial Stability Program 10 families will become, or be on  the track, to financial stability & independence Of the 96 families served, 56 reported refunds to be used for paying off existing debt thru administered survey.
    35+ families will have increased monetary return from federal income taxes. As of 3/30/10, 96 families rec'd refunds on tax returns.
    Local residents in need of state assistance will, if qualifying, receive assistance w/o making the trip to Meadville. (approx. 25 families) 17 clients were able to obtain benefits w/o driving to Meadville through Compass & The Benefit Bank.
    75% of families in Budgeting class will understand the budgeting process. Of the 2 served this period, 100% understood the process.
    10 families will show increased savings thru bank savings plan. Working on grant for program.
