Helping Children & Youth Achieve Their Potential

Your United Way enriches our youth through enrichment programs, mentoring, leadership development, career exploriation and other activities designed to help them become productive members of our community.  Funding for these programs is provided by your contribution to the Titusville Area United Way.

Big Brothers and Sisters of Crawford County One-to-One Youth Mentoring 50% of clients matched in community based prgm at least 12 mos. will have improved attitude toward school. of the 26 matches, 80% of clients in the prgm showed an improved attitude towards school.
    50% of children will not engage in difficult/violent or risky behavior. 92% of clients in prgm did not engage in difficult, violent or risky behavior.
    50% of clients matched in our community-based prgm will learn & practice a new life and/or social skill this year. 88% of clients in prgm for at least 12 mos. learned & practiced a new life and/or social skill.
    50% of clients matched will show improved school attendance. 85% of clients in prgm had improved school attendance.
    At least 50% of clients matched in prgm for at least 12 mos will show overall improved school performance. 88% of clients in prgm had improved school performance.
       
French Creek Council/Boy Scouts of America Scouting

75% of scouts involved in Flag ceremony will have improved knowledge of proper etiquite for flag & country.

Program at later date.

 

    60% report improvement in core grades & social behaviors.  
    75% understanding Community Stewardship.  
       
YMCA Round 2 PLUS Summer Prgm

100% of children participating(100) will be in a safe, nurturing, well supervised environment during prgm hrs. 

Summer program

    100% of children(100) will have nutritional daily needs met through breakfast, lunch & snack during prgm hrs.  
    85% of children (85) will have increased knowledge in key subject areas of math, reading, science, history, & geography due to enrichment learning & hands-on activities.  
    95% of children(95) will have increased energy levels and overall well-being due to daily physical education modules.  
    Attendance rate will be at 98%.  
       
Titusville YMCA Kinder Art Gym and Swim (KAGS) 100% of participants(24) will improve motor skills through fitness. 8 of 8 improved their loco motor skills through acitvity.
    100%  of participants (24) will express creativity through play, music, etc. 100%(8) children took part in craft time.
    100% (24) of participants will develop a print awareness, explore #'s and patterns. 7 of 8 children can identify ltrs of alphabet & able to pronounce ltr sounds.
    80% of participants(19) will understand different uses of written words. 88%, or 7 of 8 children, recognized their name & to say 1st ltr that their name begins with.
    100% (24) will take part in whole group story time, share time and problem solving so children can better understand each other. 100% of children have developed positive per relationships w/each other.
    100% (24) will take swimming lessons promoting water safety & healthy lifestyles. 8 children participated in swim lessons.
    100% (24) will use technology through computers and other multi-media from YMCA Tech Ctr. 8 children participated in the technology center.
       
Titusville YWCA YWCA Fun Factory 100% of children who complete 9 mos.will improve number/letter recognition. As of 3/15/10, 25% recognized numbers 1-5.  98% recognize their name/40% can write name.
    Fun Factory will serve a min. of 40 children during 2010.  Need-based scholarships will be available to all children whose parents meet income requirements.  35 unduplicated children attended during Jan-Mar w/18 rec'g scholarships. 
    80% of children will increase attentiveness by at least 2 mins. 85% of children can listen for 5 mins.
    80% of children will name at least 6 colors.  97% of children recognize their colors.
    80% of children who complete 9 mos. will use children's sissors & cut independently. reporting at end of 9 months.
    80% of children who complete 9 mos. will show emotional maturity/socialization throughtout the year. As of 3/15/10, 90% of children indicate they can use emotions properly.
    100% of 3 yr olds enrolled who aren't screened at the ECLC will be screened by a speech therapist. N/A
       
Titusville Girl Scouts Camperships 80% of girls completing rope courses will report greater self-confidence, team bldg & leadership skills. Target dates 7/23-7/25
    80% of girls will pass the water front safety test. Target dates 7/23-7/25
    80% of girls will pass the Knowledge of the Environment Test showing environmental awareness. Target dates 7/23-7/25
