Dr. Michael Dvorkin, Chair of the 75th Diamond Jubilee Campaign, announced today that the annual fund drive has reached 80% of its goal of $175,000 with $140,000 in pledges processed to date. “As the campaign moves into its final phase, I would encourage the community to consider supporting the campaign during your holiday giving”, stated Dvorkin.

One of the programs funded to meet the needs in our community is Associated Charities.  United Way funds the Associated Charities’ Utility Assistance Program.  Associated Charities aided 82 families to meet the need of families facing shut off of water, electric or heating sources due to a financial crisis.  Associated Charities provides $12,000 of support for the Utility Assistance Program.  United Way provides 75% of the program cost with an award of $8,000 of campaign funds going to the program.

United Way of the Titusville campaign funds support 13 programs that meet our community’s most pressing needs.  In addition to Associated Charities Utility Assistance Program, approved programs include:  General Counseling Services – Family Service and Children’s Aid Society; Bereavement Services – Hospice; Youth Mentoring – Youth Connection; Adult and Family Literacy services – Titusville Regional Literacy Council; Basic Needs and Financial Crisis – Salvation Army Service Unit; Summer Youth Enrichment Program – YMCA; Senior Noon Meals – Titusville Health and Aging Center; Housing and Supportive Services – YWCA; Fun Factory School Readiness Program – YWCA; Medical Transportation – Community Health Services; Family Stability Programs/Case Management – Center for Financial Independence; THS Student United Way and other programs of the United Way of the Titusville Region
