Members of the THS Student United Way and Rotary Interact Club will be venturing to Quito, Ecuador in March of 2017. These young leaders are planning a service trip to distribute shoes to the less fortunate in the areas around the capital city.
These students complete numerous community service projects in our community, including Stuff the Bus which provided 5,000 school items during the past year to help local students in need get ready for the school year and reading and book distribution days where approximately 1,000 books have been placed in the hands of young learners.
The students want to take their passion to serve others to the next level. They will be distributing 300-400 pair of shoes during their trip and will take advantage of educational opportunities and learning about the culture of Ecuador. They will visit farming villages, museums, churches and local markets and of course, they will visit the equator.
To support these young leaders, please visit their GoFundMe or contact any of the students.
Students participating are Sarah Hasbrouck, Katie Haux, Chris Wig, Max McAllister, Matthew Leach, Kai Skinner and James Whalen. The trip will be led by Joe Gionti
